History

The Wisconsin Technical Colleges Purchasing Consortium (WTC-PC) was established to serve the collective procurement needs of the state’s 16 technical college districts. Empowered by Wisconsin statutes, the consortium is authorized to initiate contracts on behalf of these districts, aiming to streamline purchasing processes and achieve cost savings through collective bargaining.

Over time, the consortium has evolved to meet the changing needs of Wisconsin’s technical colleges. Originally focused on basic procurement efficiencies, it has expanded its role to include strategic purchasing initiatives, sustainability efforts, and cooperative agreements that foster innovation across member institutions. By pooling resources and expertise, the WTC-PC ensures that technical colleges can access quality goods and services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Over the years, the WTC-PC has played a crucial role in supporting the state’s technical colleges by leveraging collective purchasing power, fostering partnerships with innovative vendors, and ensuring access to essential resources that enhance educational quality and operational efficiency..
